ChatGPT Prompt Enhancer
Prompt Enhancer is a desktop app that rewrites a rough draft into a structured prompt before you send it to ChatGPT. Select your text, press one global hotkey (⌃⌥⌘P on Mac, Ctrl+Alt+P on Windows), and it’s replaced in place — with a clear role, context, task and output format — in under four seconds.
It runs everywhere, not just the browser: ChatGPT, your editor, Notion, Slack, email.
Why structure beats a longer prompt
Adding more words doesn’t make a prompt better — adding structure does. Stating who the model should be (role), what it needs to know (context), the one thing to do (task), and exactly how the answer should look (output format) removes ambiguity and cuts the reformatting and re-prompting that eats your time.
The Chat preset applies that structure cleanly for ChatGPT and other chat models. (For Claude specifically, Prompt Enhancer goes further and uses Anthropic’s XML tag format.)
How it works
- Write a rough draft in ChatGPT or anywhere.
- Select it, press the hotkey.
- The selection becomes a structured prompt, in place.
No copy-paste, no separate generator tab. System-wide via the macOS Accessibility API and Windows UI Automation.

Honest caveats
- Deepest optimization targets Claude (XML); the Chat preset is general-purpose for ChatGPT/Gemini/Copilot.
- The macOS DMG is Apple-notarized since June 2026 — installs without Gatekeeper warnings.
- Free tier: 3 free enhancements, no signup, then a 7-day free trial; BYOK is a Pro feature. Needs internet.
